family from the detroit area came to visit last week for venetian, and as they were leaving our house to head back downstate we decided to have a quick little photo shoot of mallory and julie! julie is my mom’s cousin, and mallory is her only child – and a pretty princess at that! it was so great seeing you guys! hope to see you again very soon! :)

you may recognize this little punkin’ from last fall when i photographed her with her parents, wendi and mike. alexandra is now fourteen months old, and such a sweetheart! they spent the weekend with us, and i had the privilege to photograph her again after church on sunday. don’t you love her hair?? :)

i am officially an aunt! my sister and brother-in-law, katie and paul, gave birth to their daughter ruth sophia yesterday, april 13th, at 4:54pm. she weighed 8lb 4oz and was 22 inches in length. an absolutely beautiful addition to our family!

today i had the privilege of watching my cousins, braiden (2 yr) and jack (9 mo)! between naps, playing and watching ‘the little mermaid’, i snapped a few photos of these beautifully photogenic babies! enjoy!

a day at hess lake

saturday morning i headed south to hess lake to visit brent’s family for the day! it rained until mid-afternoon, so we enjoyed plenty of card games and laughs. the sun came out around four, so we headed next door to the neighbors beach party! i pulled my camera out, and the cutest mexican girls i’ve ever seen asked for their picture taken! dream come true on my part :) they made authentic mexican food, and we ate our hearts out! it was such a blessing to spend time with these people for the day!

venetian week – tuesday

tuesday morning i snapped a few shots of the venetian queen, alyssa mccormack, and her court – what a beautiful group of girls! i’m so excited to find out who wins on friday night at coronation!

three-on-three soccer tournaments took place on tuesday night. who would have thought that a group of men dressed in blue leggings and pink shorts would make such a great team! charlevoix mayor boogie carlson, owner of ace hardware mark greyerbiehl, varsity girls’ basketball coach bret erskine, and town favorite shane cole were an entertaining team to watch!

back downtown, braiden enjoyed playing in the music fountain with his dad! the way family had a picnic, and everyone enjoyed the petoskey steel drum band’s performance! what a great evening! can’t wait to hear gloriana and darryl worley tomorrow night!

cousins who are close have inseparable bonds, these four especially. kelsey, elizabeth, courtney and christina have spent countless hours playing, chatting and laughing together since they were babies. even though there are age differences between them (kelsey’s 15, elizabeth is 13, and the twins are 12), they get along great and love spending time together!

after snapping pictures of thatcher while babysitting one day, i was fortunate enough last night to take pictures of the whole family! keeping the dogs off each other and thatcher from eating sand made our evening quite entertaining. you make a beautiful family, kevin, joelle, thatcher and teddy! :)

happy birthday, grandpa dawson!

brother to four, father to five, grandfather to twenty-four, and great grandfather to four, my grandpa dawson is one amazing man! today he turns seventy-nine, and the whole family gathered together last sunday to celebrate. we told stories, played kickball and volleyball, ate lots of wonderful food and recalled many memories spent with dawson and joan way. our childhoods were filled with love, fun, and lots of family! after dinner we headed downtown to listen to horton creek play at the bandshell. it was a beautiful evening! we are all so thankful for our grandpa dawson and grandma joan! love you gramps!
