i spent spring break in panama city beach, florida; it was not your typical ‘college spring break’! i went with the grand valley edition of campus crusade for christ to a week-long conference that focused on sharing the gospel to fellow college students on the beach. visit the big break site for more information!
God is so great! i drove through the night and was welcomed into florida by a beautiful sunrise!
while i was enjoying the beauty of the sunrise, the ladies in the car were fast asleep… haha
welcome to florida! (and yes, i took this while driving…oh well…)
we passed interesting buildings along the way…
and i really enjoyed taking pictures out the window!
after an eighteen hour road trip, we arrived! welcome to panama city beach, florida!
we stayed at the edgewater beach resort! this is the beautiful pool area
the view from the sixth floor was spectacular! this is what i woke up to every morning – God is so good!
at the
big break conference
getting ready to go share the gospel! rachael and me :)
approximately 112 grand valley students walked a mile or so down the beach to get to our sharing location. people kept asking where the parade was heading!
on wednesday, we worked with
kids against hunger and
global aid network in a haiti relief event!
the hairnets were required … haha
we packed dried vegetables, minerals, soy and rice into bags. each bag will feed six people.
as of march 16th, the big break conference has packed 541,726 meals for haiti! the five week conference has projected to send at least one million meals!
erika and melanie – my ducklings! haha roomies :)
girls made cookies for the guys for a creative ‘date’ – there were three girl rooms assigned to one room of guys
in return, the gentlemen planned a night of music and snacks for the ladies (this is only half of the gvsu group)
four students were baptized in the pool by conference speaker ben rivera!
trying on sunglasses at the local ron jon surf shop :) i ended up buying the orange ones!
another beautiful sunset to end a great week!
